Mayenne Monbana My Pie is delighted to announce the signing of Heïdi Gaugain. The young rider from Laval will bring a strong local connection to the team, which is supported by several organisations from the region, including the Mayenne Department itself. She will become the first para-cyclist to join a professional cycling team alongside able-bodied riders. She has signed a two-year contract covering the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

Heïdi Gaugain is already a well-known figure in Mayenne's sporting community. Born without a left forearm, she has made her mark in para-cycling, particularly on the track, where she won three silver medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Named "France's Para Champion of Champions" by French sports newspaper L'Équipe in 2023, she has also won three World Championship titles. On the road, she was a double European champion in 2023 and has collected several medals at the World Championships and Paralympic Games, both held in Paris in 2024.

She has also competed successfully alongside able-bodied riders, notably as part of the junior team that won the World Team Pursuit Championship in 2022. On the road, the 21-year-old, who is currently the French U23 time trial runner-up, has won several national-level races and impressed during the Bretagne Ladies Tour, competing against professional riders. During the "La Mayenne Ladies" stage in Laval, she played an active role in the race by joining the breakaway.

This weekend, Heïdi will compete at the Para-Cycling World Championships in the United States.

Heïdi Gaugain : "I am very happy to join Mayenne Monbana My Pie for the next two seasons. My ambitions will be to help the team and proudly represent my department."

Jean-Christophe Barbotin, Manager of Mayenne Monbana My Pie : "Heïdi is a perfect fit for our Mayenne-based project. It was unthinkable for us not to offer her a place on the team. We are delighted that she is joining us. For us, she is first and foremost an athlete in her own right, on an equal footing with the others, and I am sure she will show us her qualities at international level. She embodies the Mayenne region, this project and the values we share."

Olivier Richefou, President of the Mayenne Department : "I am particularly proud to welcome Heïdi Gaugain to Mayenne Monbana My Pie. Heïdi is an exceptional athlete, a champion from Mayenne whose journey is truly inspiring. A triple Paralympic medallist, she embodies the values that matter deeply to us in Mayenne: courage, boldness and perseverance. Her arrival marks an important milestone. By becoming the first para-cyclist to join a professional team that has competed in the Tour de France Femmes, Heïdi is opening a new path for elite sport and inclusion. Her talent, determination and ambition are a tremendous source of inspiration for younger generations. Her arrival also gives full meaning to the project led by the Mayenne Department and its partners through Mayenne Monbana My Pie. Sporting performance, the development of women's cycling and a strong local connection are its three pillars. We are convinced that Heïdi will help write some great pages in the history of cycling in Mayenne and France. I wish her a warm welcome and great success in her new colours."

Angèle Le Mer, HR Director - Monbana : "We are very proud to support Heïdi Gaugain as she joins the Mayenne Monbana My Pie team.
