This Sunday marked a significant moment in Mayenne's history. With the organization of the inaugural Mayenne Ladies, which served as the final stage of the Bretagne Ladies Tour, the event gave Mayenne Monbana My Pie the opportunity to race on home roads. Racing almost on home turf, Justine Gegu claimed an impressive 3rd place on Avenue Montmorency in Laval.

After an opening sprint stage on Friday and an individual time trial on Saturday, Mayenne Monbana My Pie was determined to shine in front of its home crowd. The team had several strong cards to play, including Marine Allione, Constance Valentin, Léa Rondel, Fiona Mangan, who had finished 8th on the opening day, and local rider Justine Gegu from Méral. On an uphill drag to the finish, Gegu sprinted to 3rd place in front of her supporters. It was a fitting reward for the many fans who came out to cheer her on through the streets of Laval. In the overall classification, Marine Allione was the team's highest-ranked rider, finishing 23rd overall.

June will be a busy month for the team, with races scheduled on all four weekends in both the Alps and the Pyrenees, before each rider competes in her respective national championships at the end of the month.

Justine Gegu, 3rd. "I really want to highlight the team's work, which was absolutely outstanding. Léa was dedicated to covering the breakaways. At one point, a large group got away and she was there, so she did her job perfectly. Then, on the final circuit, Marine and Constance took over and were exceptional—they were the ones who brought us back to the breakaway. Finally, Fiona finished the job by leading me out in the final kilometres. It was truly an incredible collective effort. I was exactly where I wanted to be coming into the final corner, and I did the sprint I wanted to do. I was beaten by stronger riders, but it's still something to be proud of when a team race comes together so perfectly. I think we can all be proud of ourselves."

Franck Renimel, sport director. "Today's goal was solely to go for the win with Justine. We knew it would come down to a sprint, as the road stage was not particularly demanding, there were no major difficulties, and the final circuit was not selective enough. We saw a team that was fully committed, and we were delighted that Justine could rely on strong support from her teammates throughout the race. We wanted her to be perfectly led out in the final kilometre, well-positioned, and able to enter the last corner among the front riders. That's exactly what was planned, and that's exactly what happened. She produced a very good sprint, and there are no regrets because the two riders ahead of her, especially the winner, were simply stronger on the day. It was a very strong performance from both Justine and the team."
