Justine Gegu remains loyal to Mayenne

Mayenne Monbana My Pie confirms this Tuesday the contract extension of Justine Gegu. The rider from Mayenne, who turned professional in 2026, has signed a two-year contract extension with the French ProTeam.
In her first season with Mayenne Monbana My Pie, Justine Gegu has particularly impressed in bunch sprints. She finished 2nd at the Région Pays de la Loire Tour in April, before going on to achieve several strong results: 7th at the Picto in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, 7th at À Travers les Hauts-de-France, 11th on a stage of the Vuelta Femenina at WorldTour level, and 3rd on the Mayenne stage of the Bretagne Ladies Tour in Laval.
In 2027, Mayenne Monbana My Pie will therefore have two riders from Mayenne in its squad, with Heidi Gaugain also joining the team (read more here).
Justine Gegu : “I am very happy to continue this journey with the team for the next two seasons. My first year as a professional has been full of learning opportunities and valuable experiences. I still have a lot to learn and build on. I am motivated to keep progressing and reach new milestones with the team in 2027 and 2028.”
Jean-Christophe Barbotin, team manager : "Justine is our breakthrough rider of 2026. Helping her make the step up to the professional level has been a real success. She is very dedicated, professional and a fighter. She is determined. There was therefore no reason not to extend her contract. She has signed for two years because we genuinely believe in her. Her background speaks for itself : all those years spent in cycling schools, in the national divisions, and all those years spent working alongside others as well. Her commitment is there, the results are there, and her attitude is excellent. So, for us, extending her contract was an obvious decision."
