A landmark day in the history of the Mayenne Monbana My Pie team! At the end of Stage 4 of La Vuelta Femenina, Marine Allione claimed the Queen of the Mountains jersey. An outstanding performance in one of the most competitive races of the cycling season.

It all began early in the stage. The Mayenne-based team kept its attacking mindset, with Francesca Hall among the first to launch the action. Then Marine Allione went clear at the front alongside one rival, before two more riders bridged across to form a group of four. Their lead over the peloton stretched to as much as four minutes. On the two categorized climbs of the day, Marine crested first each time, allowing her to collect maximum points. Starting the day with zero, she now has 12 points—enough to move into the overall lead. Caught by the peloton in the final kilometers, she was nevertheless able to step onto the podium at the end of the stage to pull on the polka-dot jersey.

This is a well-deserved reward for the Mayenne Monbana My Pie structure—especially for the riders, staff, and partners. A second-division team rarely gets the opportunity to step onto Grand Tour podiums against the very highest level of the sport. It did not go unnoticed: the entire Mayenne squad gathered in force at the podium. At the finish line, the ProTeam placed two riders in the Top 30, with Natalie Quinn in 26th and Méral (Mayenne) native Justine Gegu in 29th. This means Mayenne Monbana My Pie has remained inside the Top 30 every day since the start of the Vuelta—an impressive level of consistency. Before heading into Stage 5 on Thursday, riders and staff in Spain will take time to enjoy the moment.

Marine Allione. “It’s incredible to have this distinctive jersey. Standing on the podium of a Grand Tour is just crazy—I still can’t believe it. For us, it’s huge. We won’t hide the fact that keeping it will be difficult, especially with the mountain stages coming up. But for my career, it’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
