The Mayenne Monbana My Pie team leaves the island of Palma de Mallorca with another Top 20 result. On Monday, during the Trofeo Binissalem–Andratx, Karolina Perekitko secured 17th place after yet another uphill finish, following the one already tackled on Saturday in Felanitx.

Léa Rondel also delivered a strong performance, finishing just outside the Top 20 at only 19 years old. The rider from Sarthe was the fourth French rider across the line.

Jean-Christophe Barbotin, team manager : “Overall, the team was feeling much better today (Monday) after the food poisoning we recently experienced. Constance Valentin and Justine Gegu worked a lot for Léa Rondel and Karolina Perekitko on this more mountainous terrain. The first loop was cancelled due to the weather, so we went straight into the climbs. The final finish was very hard, very steep. Karo and Léa came in with the main group behind the breakaway. They achieved a solid result, especially considering that Léa is a neo-pro. It’s great for her.”

The overall assessment after three days is undoubtedly positive for Jean-Christophe Barbotin : “I see a strong team spirit, the work is being done well and the riders are starting to build form. The sporting level is already quite good.”

We’re already looking forward to the next race! See you on Sunday for the Pionera Race.
