The Brabantse Pijl brought back good memories for Karolina Perekitko. Already in the Top 15 last year, the Polish rider from Mayenne Monbana My Pie repeated her performance, this time finishing 13th while being prominent in the final. A great way for her to kick off the last spring classics.
At the start in Lennik, the five riders from Mayenne Monbana My Pie were motivated to deliver a strong team performance: Natalie Quinn, Fiona Mangan, Léa Rondel and Kiara Lylyk worked well to position Karolina Perekitko in the best possible conditions for the finish. Well positioned on the wheel of Célia Géry, the race winner, Karo was unable to hold on and finished in the group. Still, a strong performance—she was 14th in 2025, and now 13th, improving by one place. She will now take on the next three hilly WorldTour races: the Amstel Gold Race on Sunday, followed by La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège next week.
Karolina Perekitko, 13th : “I hadn’t raced for the past three weeks. It was hard. We have a good spirit in the team, and we rode quite well together. Now we head to the Amstel Gold Race, hoping to have an even better race.”
Damien Pommereau, sports director : “The result is positive. We did well to recover because we got caught out. We were poorly positioned before the final lap, on the penultimate passage of the Moskestraat. There was a big split and we weren’t in it, but it came back together on the final passage over the line. They did a great job in the last lap, giving everything to reposition Karo towards the finish, which is good. 13th place in a ProSeries race is still a very strong result, and it’s one place better than last year. Karo was there to go for the win, she was on the right wheel—the winner’s wheel. It’s a pity she couldn’t stay in the slipstream. You also need to be able to fight for position. In any case, it shows she’s in good shape. She’s heading into the Ardennes classics to perform, and it’s a solid start”.
